Come enjoy an evening of local storytelling and music on Sunset Mountain in Black Mountain. Attendees will hike up the mountain- the site of the historic Miami Hotel- and enjoy an hour of fireside entertainment. Swannanoa Valley native Van Burnette will tell stories passed down from his family’s early days in the North Fork Valley, and musician Bert Brown will sing out Swannanoa Valley history with his original songs, accompanied on his guitar. Afterwards, attendees will hike back down the mountain.

When: Saturday, September 23, 6:30pm-8:30pm (approximated end time)

Pricing: $50 for museum members, $65 for general admission. Some fees apply.

Bring: Water, hiking sticks and good shoes for hiking, snacks, and bug spray. You may also bring folding chairs and blankets, which hike leaders will drive up the mountain for your convenience.
