Winter Workshop Series: Full Series Registration
March 7, 2020 @ 8:00 am - March 21, 2020 @ 5:00 pm
$80 – $95The Swannanoa Valley Museum Winter Workshop series is a short-run series of workshops focused on the craft and music traditions of Southern Appalachia. For three consecutive Saturdays from March 7th to March 21st, 2020, local professionals will teach two to three-hour workshops on Appalachian ballad singing, Appalachian folk medicine, and quilting traditions of the Southern mountains. Drawing on winter traditions of crafting around the hearth, each workshop will focus on creating tangible materials and developing skill sets that attendees can walk away with. End products from our 2020 classes will include hand-sewn quilt squares, jars of home cold remedies and recordings of traditional songs. Tickets for the workshops can be purchased individually, and package rates are available as well.
