Ms. Iacovelli will also describe mourning jewelry artifacts provided by several local historic sites, including the Swannanoa Valley Museum.
About the Presenter
Gina Iacovelli is the South Carolina-based artist behind Mementos Entwined; a bespoke jewelry line with a focus on honoring the depth of love, through the acknowledgment of the brevity of life.
Inspired by the sentimental and mourning jewelry of the 18th & 19th centuries, lacovelli began studying the nearly-lost art of table braiding human hair into jewelry, experimenting with instructions from mid-19th century lady’s journals. Her designs are meant to reintroduce tangible keepsakes into a digitalized world, and to preserve a physical piece of a life and the memories we hold dear. http://www.
